I like the concept of the burst of warp speed, although I'm not sure how much knock-around effects there would be in pvp, it'd be a pretty amazing escape utility though. Until you got a point on you and your micro WARP drive was worthless... So they're a good escape utility in any situation where you don't need such a utility... ABs definitely need a boost, but i think the isotope cost would be ridiuclous and cargo hold space is already at a premium when ships are loaded to the gills with cap boosters.
Also any "lock time" penalty on MWDs would be the normal solution: more sensor boosters. So then it would be instead of many dozens of ships speed tanked and having a laugh, it'd be the ships that can fit a point, MWD, and some sensor boosters. Mid slots at a ridiculous premium, anything that doens't have at least 4 midslots would be a worthless ship and entirely outclassed. You might as well make a MWD take up two mids rather than one. Actually this IS my main. |

BTW, I like the fuel thing. On the same line, I strongly suggest a "spare plates" item that is used for armor repairing. Then, of course, you'd have to remove armor plates or give them some kind of degrading effect. Perhaps turning them into a magnetic field that you have to feed with "big magnet" units.
Hurray! Even more ammo requirements! WTB: Combat Cargo Expander Actually this IS my main. |

Originally by: Nian Banks As for Cap Boosters, well if you don't have the MWD capacitor negative and AB's don't use cap either then you have more capacitor as normal and then all you need it for is for weapons and tank mostly...
The cap thing is an excellent point. Without AB/MWD cap usage I can see many builds no longer needing cap boosters at all and being cap stable with CPRs or rechargers alone. No more going back to the station every 5 minutes of combat because you ran out of charges. Actually this IS my main. |

The one consistant trend I've seen is "make points hurt MWD"-somehow. Either break them entirely or reducer their effectiveness. It seems reasonable to me, but it might make disrupters a little too powerful. Maybe a specialized anti-MWD module? One that is a longer-range web, but based on sig-radius to hit MWD users harder. Unfortunately this would make it the end-all web against battlecruisers or bigger. Actually this IS my main. |
